LAW ENFORCEMENT RESPONSE TO THE TOXIC INCIDENT: This 8-hour course is for law enforcement and security professionals who may be the first responder to an incident. The program concentrates on simple principles necessary to recognize an incident, select the proper level of personal protection, and develop a cogent response plan. Covers the spectrum of hazardous materials incidents that law enforcement will most likely encounter. Meets the requirements of OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.120.

 

WMD: MEDICAL FIRST RESPONSE: An 8-hour program developed for the EMS professional. Will you be able to recognize a covert WMD incident? This class covers the information necessary to identify the most likely causative agent and implement appropriate treatment and decontamination strategies.

 

WMD: HEALTH CARE FACILITY PREPARATION: The Joint Commission for the Accreditation of  Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) has identified the need for WMD preparedness in their revised (2001) guidelines. Will your facility meet these requirements during its next inspection? This 8-hour program covers all the required information for meeting these requirements. From hospital administrator to facilities management, from the emergency department to the laboratory, the responsibilities of each person and each department within the facility will be discussed. Includes review of the most likely causative agents, treatment and decontamination strategies, selecting personal protective equipment, and developing response plans. Meets the requirements of OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.120.

 

THE HOSPITAL RESPONSE TO TERRORISM: INTRODUCTION TO THE INCIDENT COMMAND SYSTEM: Originally developed by the fire service, police departments are quickly integrating this system into their planning and operations. Based upon common terminology and concepts, knowledge of the ICS is necessary for hospitals to understand their community's response to an act of terrorism and to develop their own response plan. This 4-hour class covers the basics and will prepare any hospital administrator, manager, or  clinician to  develop a comprehensive and integrated plan.

 

HEALTH CARE FACILITY: CBRNE STRIKE TEAM: Can't find enough time or money to train everyone in your facility? This intensive 2-day course will train selected individuals to be the primary response team for your facility. Includes extensive training in the medical response to Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive weapons. Also provides training in response planning, decontamination procedures, personal protective equipment, and the incident command system.
